Tired of the remote start not working on my key fob anymore so I decided to purchase the app subscription. Comes with pretty clear instructions as to how to connect your vehicle to verify ownership but I get this error message when attempting to follow the verification steps.

Shortly after posting this I found a post on Reddit that suggested resetting your personal data to allow a good connection with your cellular device. In doing so it removed All previously installed apps, the ability to customize things like beep volume and duration the lighting stays on with the vehicle turned off. It also eliminated the remote connect authorization button within the infotainment system. After many calls to the connected services rep they had me press my SOS button which revealed total DCM connectivity malfunction.

Since I no longer have warranty coverage the dealership quoted me $150 for diagnostics and told me I'd be looking at somewhere north of $1,000 for DCM replacement so I canceled my subscriptions and uninstalled the app, I figured the plug and play remote start units are under $300 and we can eliminate the possibility of the DCM malfunctioning again in the future.

Fast forward to today (12/11/24) I pick up the car from the local garage after having one of my front hub assemblies replaced and Entune has an update on the screen when I get into the car. I press update not knowing what to expect and after a few minutes all of my options are back including the remote authorization tab so I download the app and add the vehicle, it sends me the six digit code which went right into the head unit and it connected to the vehicle, after a quick 20-minute drive home I opened the app and all of the information is now current and correct.
The shop said they didn't touch anything except the front wheel so there is no explanation as to why it is now working but I am happy to report it is indeed functional again. I guess we will see how long my joy lasts lol.

Update..

Called my local dealership who said they have a lady who deals exclusively with connected services issues, suggested I erase my personal data to see if maybe re-pairing my phone would work. After wiping it, I no longer have the remote connect authorization option. It tells me I need an active subscription to Entune in order to download apps.

I had a bunch of issues with mine when I first purchased my car. Took me a couple calls to the connected services team along with disconnecting the negative terminal for a duration of time to reset the system. It eventually worked but there wasn't any solid fix. Just a bunch of trial and error until I could see the Authorization button under the communication menu. Entune should have nothing to do with this. You will need a Toyota account but you shouldn't need a subscription to one of the connected services. There will be some base things that work in the app without a subscription but you won't be able to use a majority of the good features (start/stop/unlock/lock). I only pay for the remote connect but you can decide what you want to pay for.

Yeah I've tried disconnecting the battery, deleting all personal data which actually eliminated all customization features on the infotainment system, all I have now is Bluetooth connectivity on the screen. Going to call connected services tomorrow and see if they can help, one of the things I did notice on the head unit is the DCM signal indicator has a line through it and is not lit up and from my understanding if the DCM is not receiving a signal you will never get any of your features to work.
