I just ordered it at $400 on Ebay and hopefully the installation will be plug and play . I found a bit information about how to upgrade to navigation unit: extension module, bracket Bluetooth antenna, y harness... I would appreciate if anyone can share some pictures of your navigation head unit with harness :nerd:

Update: Just received it this afternoon. It came with Harman Extension module.

As expecting, the installation process took about 30 mins or so.

Surprisingly, TPMS feature is compatible with 2013 model. BTW, i have a 2013 Camry SE model and the navigation unit is 2012 Camry SE/XLE model. :nerd:

In order to obtained app features, i have to create an entune account with its original vin number. I heard from several forums that those upgraded their head unit had created an entune account and got banned within a week or so and hopefully they will have not ban my account. Otherwise, i will have to ask my friend share his account ( invite as a secondary user). FYI, each Entune account can add up to four more persons. Without Entune apps, this head unit is pretty much useless to me.

Received GPS antenna from Ebay ($7.99).

Done. I was able to use all features: apps, navigation,... except SAT radio. Total cost is $408.

Reset / Recalibrate Entune Hu procedures . Do it at your own risks.

:bump:

Since the installation process is simple, i will skip it and share some of technical aspects when i searched for a navigation HU on ebay.

1- JBL or non JBL compatible? Look for JBL logo on the front face plate.

2- Display Audio Entune or Premium HDD navigation? There are many different types of Entune HU. Some HUs come with extension module, and some don't.

3- Y harness? This harness will connect between HU and extension module. I always looked for HU with y harness, if it doesn't show on pictures, i will request the seller to obtain it from their car. You can also purchase it from Toyota website- part no. PT296-47120-AB.

4- Original vin number? If the seller can't provide, do not buy it. You need to a correct vin number to create an entune account.

5- GPS antenna? if the seller can supply an gps antenna, that's great. If not, you will have to buy one on ebay. You can find more information on this thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39071. Also, you can search an oem gps antenna on these cars: toyota, lexus, acura, nissan, jeep, ford, panasonic, .... As long as it has similar squared shape, it will work on this HU.

2012 Navigation HU - front plate no. P10067.
2013 Navigation HU - front plate no. P10407.

I will update this thread if i found any information relate to Camry Navigation HU.

Good luck!!!!

You can easily find one on ebay - same price or even cheaper. I particularly interested in this head unit ( ebay # 181502868879) because it came with an extension module, y harness ( part no. PT296-47120-AB) and original vin number. You can find more information about the extension module on this website: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39071 . They actually spent $1300 for an Entune extension module.

There are many sellers listed it as radio instead of navigation. My tip is to search it as camry radio. How do i spot a navigation HU? looked for "App" button on lower right. You will find some cheap HU as low as $350. Found one but it doesn't have y harness or vin number (ebay # 361025153574). I didn't buy it at first place because the seller do not have its vin number and i do not want to spend $30 on Y-harness.

Good luck.

I found a P10067 with the extension box included for $327 shipped. I bought an OEM Kenwood GPS antenna for $15, only a few dollars more than the lower quality aftermarket antennas that ship from China. $342 later, I'm all set for the upgrade to factory navigation!

I got the VIN number of the original car from which the radio was pulled. Is that all that is needed to register for Entune and not have the account blocked/banned? Also, I have read some things that would indicate that a car must be "wired" for Entune enable units to work. My car did not come with an Entune unit. Shouldn't I still be able to make it work by using the VIN of the original car? I can't see where the car itself would need to be "wired" for Entune.

its worth a try ive been researching and was wondering if any of you guys found a blu logic ecu unit in the car because the blu logic module is connected to a ecu where it is being controlled and on a bulk blu logic unit i found on ebay link here http://www.ebay.com/itm/161051011509
it comes with a mic jack which is the small white connection using this could i be able to disconnect the module and directly connect the mic cable from the ecu of the module to the HU radio and use as a mic??

Okay, I was partially incorrect about having two plugs left over. I have one left over. My car has a plug that is identical in size and shape to the larger of the two plugs coming from the extension box. The plug has four wires on it. I left it disconnected since I figured the one coming from the extension box is important. Apparently I made the correct choice, because everything is working as expected! The only issue I have now is that the gps antenna does not fit the port in the radio as expected. It is very close, but it is not exact. Is there an antenna that fits it perfectly?

Thanks, that worked perfectly! It didn't want to snap in place once in there, so I just went around the connector with electrical tape to secure the connection at the extension box. Everything seems to be working now except for the backup camera. I have a feeling that the connector I had to leave off is the one that has the camera connections on it.

Here are pics of the connector. It is identical to the larger of two connectors on the y-harness coming from the extension box, so I don't know how I can get these wires connected to the radio. I have to choose one or the other.

Another pic that might help. I think perhaps the NAV and non-NAV units use different connectors for the backup camera.

UPDATE: I found this site that confirms the remaining port on the back of my radio is the camera port. So it appears that the non-NAV, non-Entune units use the 24-pin connector for the camera while the NAV/Entune units use a 16-pin connector. I need to find a harness that adapts my connector to 16-pin or make one myself in order to get my camera back up and running.

That is not truth. I installed it on 2013 SE and it used 16 pins connector for backup camera. I think they changed on 2014 models. I can custom one these connector for you from 16p - 24p. It will cost you about $30 + shipping. My store on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/usr/ip4d
