I was just playing with the Toyota app... and tried pressing the start button the app on my phone (Android)... I expected to get an error message ... But the car started... I was also able to shut it off... and got text messages on my phone confirming these actions.

The LE is not supposed to come with a Remote Connection trial subscription...

Why did this work? Did I somehow accidentally sign up for something from the App or inside the car? The guy showing how do things was new and was not familiar with android... maybe some he accidentally did it?

When I paid for the car it did not include any subscriptions, but because I used a credit card for the down payment, the dealership did have that credit card info...

Looking at the app it says I do have a 1 year of remote connect ... Did others LE owners who bought the convenience package get one free year?

When I got my car, we signed up for all the free subscriptions EXCEPT Wi-Fi Connect because it requires a credit card and is a really short trial. If you are concerned about the subscription having your credit card info, you can check in the Toyota app.
Tap the "person" icon in the upper right.
Click Account
Click Payment Method
Click your vehicle
I get an error saying there are no payment methods for this account along with the direction to go to Manage Subscriptions to add one.

Thanks... I tried that and got the same so I don't have to worry.

I am happy to report that remote start via the key FOB is indeed operational after the 1 year remote start trial expires. My free trial expired yesterday and I tested remote start via the key FOB a few minutes ago.

When the trial expires, all remote start related buttons in the Toyota App will disappear and will be replaced by a "Renew" button. I deleted the app now since it is useless to me, especially with that annoying "Toyota would like to connect" popup every time I start the car.
