Transmission memory reset - relearning period?

I think I may know the answer here but just wanted to check with the community. I am going to have my trans fluid changed tomorrow and am going to ask the dealer to also reset the transmission's "memory" so hopefully I can resolve some of the occasional shudder I get when shifting at low speeds. My question is that if they do this, is there a period of time or miles that the transmission needs to re-learn it's programming/shift strategy, and any tips that might help it relearn this strategy "properly"? I'm doing this as it was recommended by Ahmed from the Car Care Nut channel as a means to help address some of the transmission shifting issues in the 8-speed transmissions.

So basically I'm asking should I just drive it normally, or drive it at various speeds, varying my speed periodically, say every 15 minutes, like you would do during new-car break-in? I'm pretty sure that from a mechanical "break in" standpoint that doesn't matter in this case of reprogramming as the clutches and other components are already broken in mechanically as it has almost 60k on it now.

When I bought my Camry, it seemed like 12k miles before it decided
how I drive. At low speed, in traffic, I don’t really care for it.
Accelerating on freeway, shifts great, accel to 80-85 mph and it holds
for about 5-8 seconds and settles in to cruise mode. I love the way
it cruises.
What do I think the weak link is in this car? The tranny. Otherwise,
Toyota hit a home run with these trd cars.

I would maybe see if there is a firmware/software update for your car/transmission. The dealer finished mine today, updated the software and reset the memory (plus flushed the fluid and changed it) and it drives better. Shifting is a lot smoother (drove it about 150 miles combined city and highway after the change). There is still occasional shuttering but mostly if I, say, speed up and then slow down quickly, and then speed up again for example, but I guess this may just be a characteristic of the 8-speed as it did this when it was new too. But for the most part, for me, the reset and fluid change seems to have helped quite a bit.

I guess we'll wait and see how this pans out though as I've only driven 150 miles on it today and will need to probably wait for a few thousand miles to see if it retains its overall shift strategy which I think is quite good now post service.

My issue is that there are days, and by days I mean instances of driving where the car feels very responsive and agile and days where it feels almost sluggish. I wish there was an additional “toggle” where you have the option of “daily drive” mode or “sport” mode. Meaning a choice of two “learned shift points” and other settings,… one for when you are trudging through mind numbing traffic on a Friday and the other when you are illegally racing your buddy a quarter miles before a speed trap.

I don’t live that the car always ends up with a “learned” program that is half 5 mph traffic and half vroom vroom.
