As far as I know of, there are no differences between the 2001-2003 and 2004-2007 grilles that will affect swapping one for the other. @TheLowlander mentioned this in an earlier post from 2022 but warned that ‘06 and ‘07 hybrid grilles won’t fit due to a bumper difference between the models.

Here are screenshots of a 2002 Highlander grille and a 2007 Highlander grille to show the very slight aesthetic differences between them.

The same thing happened to me when I was trying to buy it. I messaged the seller for a different grille he still had listed in regards to the Highlander TRD grille (“usacar-upgrade” on eBay) and he put it back online so I could buy one. I’d give it a shot if you’re actually interested.

Here’s a link to a TRD Ford Ranger grille that he sells, you can hit the “contact seller” button and maybe he can put the listing back up or produce more because he notices an increase in demand.

Woah! Just found this post! This TRD grill is awesome! If I didn't have my kluger grill I'd definitely pick one up! I got my grill imported from Japan for about $240.

I also have a SUPER rare 2007 (only available for 3-4 months) "Sport" grill I might sell for the right price lol

Please elaborate on the rareness. 3-4 months? I see the sport model quite a bit around these parts but definitely the most uncommon version alongside the Hybrid. Wasn't the grill on all the sport models. Dang if ide know it was so rare I would of taken the grill from the yard already, there was one in there about 6 months ago...

I probably will end up getting this grill also but will change the color of the text to dark grey and buy some high quality mesh to cover the other parts and give it a proper coat of gloss black paint .after that I think it will really look good and premium. As it is, is seems a little cheesy but definitely has potential. Kinda the last thing on my list ATM, have spent way too much on my HL this year! Plus I still need to go back and work on my mesh grill that needs finishing

After months of waiting, the base coat I ordered finally came in the mail! I quickly began working on paint matching the side panels of this grille, which ended up being easier than I originally thought.

I started with sanding the plastic with 1000 grit and cleaned it with alcohol. Two generous coats of primer and three thin coats of base coat had it looking great, then two coats of gloss clear coat sealed it all up.

All in all, I think it turned out great, but I still want to add some gloss black to the strip that surrounds the "Toyota" letters then clear coat the remaining plastic. That should make it look a little more finished than it currently does with exposed plastic.

Wow wow wow! That's exactly what I did with my kluger grill! 1000 grit scuff, 2 coats primer, 3 coats base from automotivetouchup, and 2 coats clear of clear!
Haha it was like déjà vu reading your post! This is definitely a proven method! Here's my grill over 1 year after paint!

(And yes! My car was spoiler-less when I bought it, that's a vintage gold metallic junkard spoiler under that sundowns red paint!)

That Kluger grille was definitely something I was considering, because WOW that looks good. I really like the vertical slots instead of horizontal like most HLs in the US.

Also, that sandpaper, primer, paint, and clear coat technique can't steer you wrong, it's always a solid method to paint most anything.

Thanks for the kind words!

This looks really good! It's a little more subtle now which is more.balanced, but with a touch of class and uniqueness. Looks great.

Really giving me motivation to get my grill done, I bought this cheap generic grill I'm going to start from scratch.

Keep us fed on the updates LOL. I love these custom projects!

The Kluger grill was calling my name once I saw a picture of it online, I just had to have it! The TRD grill and Kluger are tied imo I wish I could have both  I've been doing spray paint projects for years, much to the annoyance of my parents lol. That made paint projects breezy on the ol first car! The technique you used has never failed on a single project!

I just paint the bed sides on my twins Silverado, with automotivetouchup aerosol cans! Don't mind the rusty arches, those are corrosealed and treated to keep the rust under the fender flares until we scoop up a southern bed.

Best picture I have at the moment, wet sanding with 3k and finishing comund polish this weekend! A Wax will come in a month when the paint is done breathing.
