TRD under braces on my V6 XSE

I purchased directly from Toyota the beefier under braces from the TRD version for my XSE V6. If you read any of the reviews of the TRD they usually compare that version to the XSE and its noted that the TRD version is much stiffer. Yes, the TRD has different springs and struts but I'm not getting those. I do have the TRD front and rear sway bars and sway bar bushings but haven't had time to install those yet. But, I wanted to post this for anyone interested. Direct replacement. Much more solid, and heavier...hoping the stiffness makes up for the weight. Pretty nice pieces. Relatively inexpensive and etched with TRD logo.

This will make next to no difference. The real difference is the rear strutbar and new coilovers/springs.

Stronger braces will give you little or no difference in handling or drivability unless you purchase and install the entire suite of heavy-duty TRD components. Only then will the vehicle be able to survive increased levels of abuse.

Made a difference to me and the way I drive. Everyone is different and I have a XSE. View attachment 315947
Me too. I feel a difference and I've got a V6 XSE too. But I do also want to get the TRD wider BUT lighter wheels. Those plus some new tires will help much more too. Those are on my list for the Spring.

Questions:
1) Ultra Racing braces vs. TRD Camry/Avalon Braces? Which to consider?
2) For above, will void extended warranty?
3) RSB...I have an AWD XSE...is there a version that works with this setup? Or not possible given the rear geomery/parts?
4) Ultra Racing Tower Brace- remove existing factory brace, or leave in place and install UR right along with it?

Thanks in advance...

I'm surprised at how little the community in general has looked into trd upgrades. I went from daily driving a 10 second golf r with chassis/suspension upgrades to a camry le hybrid. I couldn't help but look into upgrading the camry hybrid. I immediately put on adjustable shocks from Tien and a upper front strut tower brace. The trd chassis braces you recommended just came in today so i will put those on soon. I also ordered trd lowering springs, camber bolts, kyb upper strut mounts and bearings, and a trd rear swaybar. Great post, thx!

P.S. Can you do me a favor and measure your TRD front swaybar diameter? I want to see if it is larger than the front hybrid bar before I order it. None of the vin checking and cross referencing i did shows a front bar diameter.

The white strut tower bar pictured above looks identical to mine. It was an ebay purchase. There is already a OEM bar connecting left and right closer to the firewall side. The aftermarket bar does provide a little more rigidity and can be installed next to the OEM.

The biggest performance differences will be with the Struts/springs and swaybars. I have the LE so I have the squishiest suspension from the beginning. The XLE has better handling than the LE and the XLE nightshade is even closer to TRD in suspension tightness. Also, its worthy to note that the camry TRD model has different springs than the "TRD Lowering Springs" that are available through Toyota. The rear swaybar, front strut bar, chassis braces are all pretty easy to install. Struts/springs will need an alignment and possibly camber correction bolts depending on what model you are going from and to. The TRD lowering springs will very likely need some camber adjustment bolts to prevent tire wear and get camber within OEM specs. The front swaybar is the most difficult to install over all other mods because it sits above the subframe so the subframe mut be lowered to swap the bar.

I currently have the front strut tower bar, aftermarket 16 level adjustable struts/shocks, rear swaybar, and upgraded to 18" wheels (from 16" on the LE). I've just ordered the chassis braces, TRD lowering springs, camber bolts, KYB strut mount/bearing assemblies, and front Camry TRD swaybar/bushings.

I can totally understand that. In terms of handling benefit, the swaybars are more significant than a strut tower bar, especially since the car comes with a mild OEM brace already. That being said, the strut tower brace is very simple to install and noticeable benefit. The TRD under chassis braces are also cheap and very easy to install.

If you want to keep it simple and improve the chassis, I would recommend the aftermarket strut tower brace and the TRD under chassis braces first.

After that, the next simplest is the rear swaybar. It can be done, just on ramps or similar and is only a few bolts. It made a big difference for my car making the rear feel much more planted in turns.

is there an RSB upgrade available for the AWD Camry's? So far anything to do with "back there" seems a no go when it comes to even the exhaust upgrades (Borla or otherwise)

I finally got mine on and also installed an aftermarket chassis brace kit at the same time.
