My 2000 Tacoma 5 speed, 200,000 miles, is having trouble shifting into 3rd and 4th gear. It feels like the shifter isn't moving far enough to fully engage those gears. It started pretty quickly. Sometimes it will not get into gear and require another shift to engage. It feels like the shifter should move 2" further. I'm thinking some kind of linkage problem, like a worn linkage bushing. All other gears are OK and shifter moves as it should. In 3rd and 4th, it doesn't feel like the shifter has clicked into position, it stops before a click is felt. Thanks

The shifter on a R150F goes directly into the top odf the transmission. Common issue, normal wear and tera.
it could be the nylon bushing under the shifter. Cheap and easy to fix. Don't even have to crawl under the truck.

Did you take any pics?

I may have some oddities going on in my rig there at shifter but it's not yet that bothersome lol

i was just curious about that deterioated bushing and what it was looking like to jam it up

currently i am sensing a faint squeaking whilst shifting the stick around!

and i believe i also have a transmission leak AGAIN around that gasket on top of the housing :(
