I am having same new problem with v 2.0.4. This app has been appalling ever since they went to v2.
I agree with you. Toyota needs to hire some new software people. Overall the app does the job but it could be better and more reliable. I preferred the old version to this new version.

My Corolla XSE is also doing this, same version.....

Hey everyone. My phone just auto updated the Toyota App to version 2.0.4 and now I get a constant trunk open notification on my Camry. Is anyone else experiencing this on version 2.0.4? It’s not a huge bug, but does make me a little paranoid.đŸ˜‚
Mine is also doing this... Corolla XSE... Glad I found this post I ran out from work thinking my trunk was open:cautious:

Yeah same! I had to go out and check my car in the middle of the night.đŸ˜‘

Nope... false hope.
Happening again today.
Obviously not the app itself... it's something on the back end.
Yeah I wish they would fix it. At least the status on the main page is accurate.

Since last update same problem with my Corolla, just don’t understand why every time there is an update there seems to be a glitch.☹

??????

You've tested this?

Of course, if you've left the car unlocked, the trunk release button is right there on the dash anyways.
Yes but it makes it easier to rip off. Just walk up. No getting in drivers door. Just hit button.
Proximity key for trunk would have been nice, like for when it’s locked. Another example of Toyota’s lack of attention to detail.

My gripe is that you can’t lock the trunk independently from everything else with the key insert so it doesn’t open by smart key presence. Them letting you open it while the key is around sounds like a convenience thing to me, given the lack of independent lock.

I fail to see how it is a lack of attention to detail.
If the car is locked, the trunk is locked.
Why would you not lock your car unless you are actively loading or unloading it?

That must be how the designers were thinking. How can we simplify and cheapen it. No trunk lockout, no problem.
BTW Honda locks when you walk away. No such feature with Toyotas. Only then could such a design be justified.
