In spite of all the hype, the new Tundra sales have tanked 40% compared to 2021. It's the worst sales performance among full size pick-up trucks. Supply shortage have certainly contributed somewhat to this problem, but this has affected all manufacturers and Toyota has actually fared better then others. Looks like few people want the new Tundra.
Overpriced, unreliable (lot's of problems reported by early buyers) and lack of engine options.

I really do not agree. Of course I bought one and love it. It seems that its hard to believe that 2 things can be true at the same time. The performance of the Tundra Hybrid is astonishing. I believe this powertrain will exceed the expectations of most, if not all naysayers. I think the load that is removed from the ICE engine by the MG in normal use will extend the life of this powertrain and you simply cannot argue that it exceeds the performance of the V8 in every way. In addition, regenerative braking will extend the life of brake components. I do agree that demonstrated reliability is not equal to projected reliability, but I do trust Toyota engineers and I think what we are looking at is the future of pick up power trains. It makes the cost and performance of all the Electric trucks look stupid. Its good, its smooth, its powerful and its available. I love it, every ICE engine loving gear head friend of mine that drives this thing gets the same silly smile on their face the first time they get after the throttle. I'm sure I did too. Its surprising, and I think it may be setting a new standard. All that said, I admire and Love the V8, I come to this truck from a 5.7 hemi etorque that had power to spare. The Toyota 5.7 is legendary, and all who love it are correct to love it imho, but I can love the hybrid too.

Consumer Reports:
Lowest rated and least reliable full-size truck. CR report has always been a Toyota fan, but abysmal reviews and owners' feedback don't lie. Reliability rating is based on surveys of hundreds of actual owners, and the amount of issues reported is high enough to earn the Tundra "below average" reliability.
