Hi everyone,
How long does a battery typically last on a 2017 highlander in the south east,? The stealership said it failed a battery test, but I don't believe anything they say.
On the print out for the batt test it says "actual cold cranking amps - 377"
factory is supposedly 605 amps
We do not use the auto start stop feature.
Thanks

Probably getting near to failure. Southern temps are hard on batteries. Do yourself a favor and go to walmart or auto zone and get a better quality battery for less. There is nothing special about Toyota batteries.

I have a 2017 XLE that needed a battery around 3 years and 9 months. I pretty much got the 350 cold cranking amp story from the dealer too. I'm near Chicago, have about 44,000 miles on mine, oh and did my own test with an ODBC reader and confirmed what the dealer said as correct. Got a new AGM battery at Pep Boys on sale for 159 bucks plus 15 bucks for an install. I was prepared get a new battery, never had one in a toyota go past about 3-1/2 years.

I would not have replaced the battery and would have let it ride for who knows how long. But when a stealership tells my wife her battery "failed" she gets nervous and doesn't want to take any chances of the car not starting unexpectedly, so we just got the batt replaced at advanced auto parts - paid $233 for an agm 24 installed. The stealership wanted I think $390.

My original battery in my 2015 Highlander just died last month. It's 6 years old and it died on a freezing morning in MA. I got an Interstate battery at Costco for $90 plus tax. I installed it myself since they don't install battery. I returned the old one to them for the core charge. The new one has CCA 700.

I noticed the beeping sound for the remote door lock/unlock was barely noticeable days/weeks before the battery was dead. Maybe it is a hint for checking the voltage or a new battery. Interestingly, all the electronics (no dim lights or starting issue) were working properly but just the weak beeping sound for the remote.

Well I don't think much of Toyota batteries. The OEM battery gave up the ghost at 35 months. Luckily, it was still under the B2B warranty, so Toyota replaced it for free with a 84 month toyota battery. 37 months later the replacement battery crapped out. Went to Walmart and bought a Everstart Maxx. I've had good luck with them lasting plus 5 years.
