Do you mean the cover on the exhaust manifold? Should be OK, but why scrap it? Was it hurting anything? Make sure plug wires and such do not touch the exhaust now.

 

yeah i got slot holders for the plugs .. excess weight i suppose

 

might as well scrap the manifold and get a header

hey theres another shield under the truck at the catlytic converter, you should remove it too DD

theres one under the front of the engine too, and maybe one at the fuel tank possibly also
