^The 4x4-big-tire people would think they were in a freakin' evo if they did 0-60 in 10 seconds...

That's pushing '02 corolla territory right there

^ha you know your a japanese car guy when you say a 22re has "so much room" lol. Ever seen under the hood of anything older than 1985 ;). That's more like room to work...

Overall the 4cyl is better engineered but you will break a timing chain/timing chain gear eventually if you don't replace it when it's rattling, which means your valves will bend due to the interference style of the engine (major engineering flaw, not sure why it was done this way I'm sure an engineer could tell me).

As far as what I've seen the V6 gets crappy fuel economy and both make crappy power, but we love 'em anyway. :D If your truck is totally stock you can still squeeze 22 or 23 with mixed driving with the 4cyl, which i guess isn't too bad. With 31's on my 22re i get like 19 in all stop and go if i drive like a complete and total grandma. A lot of the v6 owners get v8 fuel economy numbers, especially around town. Both will be fine if you just drive them and don't F them up, but overall i think you will find that the 4cyl is the more popular motor. Just don't believe the people that tell you it's like God's gift to earth or something, it's a good motor for a 90's truck, but it's still just an old worn out truck motor, no matter how many people tell you different. I like it and they are very easy to work on, but I certainly wouldn't want one in any newer car, put it that way.

For a first car or just for something inexpensive to get you from point a to b, it's a solid choice.
