where is the valve located? On the bottom of the intake manifold? what color is it and where does the vacuum lines run?

Its either your AC Idle Up valve, TVIS VSV, or your Turbo VSV.

 

I think he is talking about the check valve that connect to the lower chamber of the bpv. I know, because I also broke one of the nipples off mine one time.

You are correct in that it is a one-way valve. The stock bpv has 2 chambers. The vacuum line running from the intake manifold is "T"ed into 2 lines. One runs directly to the larger top chamber of the bpv, while the other runs through the check valve to the smaller lower chamber.

Under boost, the larger upper chamber produces more force and holds the bpv shut. When u let off the throttle, the upper chamber goes into vacuum, while the lower chamber holds pressure because of the check valve, resulting in the bpv snapping open.

Your simple autozone one-way valve should work just fine for now, but I don't know much about any long term problems/results from using an aftermarket valve.

Thanks Frank, I just got the replacement one from the dealer today, so it's not an issue anymore.

No problem Andy. The rears are 17x9 +35, with 245/40/17 Kumho ecsta MX tires. Had to roll the rear fenders to make em fit. They scraped a bit on bumps.
