which Maxlife?

Sorry for asking too many questions. It seems like there are 3 maxlife ATFs. Not sure it is same inside or just packaging differences.

1. MaxLife® DEX/MERC ATF contains a blend of superior base oils and a unique additive package to help extend the life of transmissions with over 75,000 miles

Stores buy/sell whatever they want. Not sure why brands cycle among the stores. Profit!!!! If they can't get a lowest bid shipment contract, then it disappears. Purchasing negotiations can be a btch, expecially with walfart and big autopart store chains.

If Maxlife isn't available, use something else.

Import multivehicle/universal ATF's work fine for T-IV.

WS requires a good full synthetic LV, low viscosity, ATF. Pennzoil and Supertech even have choices.

Check store websites. Some fluids can be ordered online and delivered to store for customer pickup. And, there is always the Amazoned/Fleabay option for some of the other and fancy brands.

You can buy the Valvoline online then have it shipped to your nearest Walmart for pickup. I reside within driving distance of 5 Walmart's and I'm always able to find the ATF in one of them. My local store stopped carrying it but the other day I noticed two bottles on the shelf and snagged them up. It doesn't go bad like milk; so, I'll store them for later use.

update: for some reason, my local walmart had 3 jugs of valvoline atf on the shelf and it was all gone when i walked away. amazing how quick this stuff flies off the shelves when they finally stock some of it!
{for an old guy, i did scarf it up pretty quick }

Walked through my local Walmart, where I picked up two jugs of Maxlife two weeks ago, and they be out. I couldn't even find the shelf space for it. I did pick up the Dex/Merc in the blue jug - it's DexIII and that's for flushing out the PS fluid - all my Toyota products call for DexIII.

They do have a lot of Valvoline Asian coolant on the shelf, about $12/gallon premixed. Walmart's website is all messed up. In the store Castrol Edge is like $26-28 for 5qt jugs, but online the 0W20 is $19 and the German or now Belgium Castrol 0W40 is $21/jug! And why is their website showing $5.xx for Supertech Dexron VI but then saying in store it's $3.50?

@Chuy - I believe you can still order Maxlife ATF online and pick up at the store.

They have been advertising lower prices for online orders (even with free pickup at stores) for sometime now. Believe this is a strategy to compete with Amazon and take a whole lot of business online.

Lower prices in store than online? No comments there. However, one thing is sure, they will honor the online prices. On rare occasions, when shopping in store, I have been charged a higher price than displayed.

^ yeah the higher prices online just don't make sense if that's their intention. Walmart's website is slow (maybe because they're using Microsoft cloud??) and the search engine sucked so much (Bing??) I doubt they'll catch up to Amazon any time soon. Do a search and they give you all the irrelevant results compared to Amazon. Oh well.

I hadn't noticed this in my local Walmarts for about a year. I wasn't actively looking but noticed that they didn't have it. Then I needed some to flush my power steering and couldn't find it at all. Only could find it at Napa for about $8/quart, no gallons.

After seeing this thread today, I checked Walmart online and one store in the Phoenix are had some, the only store. So went by and they had about 30 gallon jugs of them on the shelf like they'd just gotten them.

They now have four less and were $17.87 each. Maybe there's been supply issues?
