My wife’s 2009 Venza shifts to drive and reverse fine, but there is a delay and a jolt. The shift indicator sees when it is in neutral and park but won’t see it in drive or reverse unless I jiggle the shifter around. Please help

I suppose not impossible, but have you noticed it getting unusually loose? Have you noticed any issue getting it out of park?
The reason I was thinking along the lines of the range sensor was the delay and jolt along with what I assume you were describing when you said "The shift indicator sees when it is in neutral and park but won’t see it in drive or reverse unless I jiggle the shifter around". That sounds like the ECU isn't getting good info from the range sensor as I believe the ECU softens the shift into gear by briefly dropping the RPM's as the transmission is engaging. The one thing that makes me hesitate and consider other possibilities is having range sensor issues isn't that common for Toyota. Honda more so.
Hey, so I finally came around to replacing the switch yesterday. I ended up having a transmission shop put it in for me. The problem has seemed to be fixed. Back up lights and camera turns on. Dash indicator shows every position the transmission is in. And there is no jolt after shifting from park. Thank you for the help. I hope this discussion helps future people with the same problem
As they say, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while lol. Glad it seems to have solved the problem.
Just out of curiosity, what did they charge you? I'm sure they charged a slight labor premium for not making anything on parts, but it would still give an indication of how easy or hard it is to change.
