I'm gonna have to disagree.

The car coming outta the garage was clever, but the rest was a stock mk4 tootin' around to an overplayed Linkin Park song. The piece played when rolling outta the garage is lesser used, but still over used.

Sidenote: Unless you're using a two-step on that engine the HKS SSQV wont do much impressive compared to when it's under boost.

Not to say it's not a nice car, it's just a stock car.

Yea, I now have to agree with them. It's kind of boring to watch a stock\auto supra driving around.. I was waiting for some wheel spin or anything that showed it off.

auto isnt bad for a supra, many of the faster drag supras are auto.

im just trying to say, its not that magnificent... he owns a supra. thats it. he drives it around and makes a video that looks like a car and driver road test. im not going to give him too much credit here for having the money for a supra. but nonetheless, its stock. boring.

Just because supraforums says something, that doesn't mean it's true.

Autos. They're fast in drag because they're simple. Get a Trans-brake, and romp the gas. Adjust the kick down speed of the tranny and it shifts faster. So you get predictable, fast runs every time. Autos also have, as was mentioned above, more drivetrain loss which makes them less desireable to me and many.

What does this equate to on the street? :yawn: On ths strip? :clapclapclap:

However, to tote a video of a Nearly bone stock Auto Mk4 Supra tooting around a road doesn't do it for me. Owning a supra doesn't do it for me because any asshat w/cash can own a Supra or any other high-class car for that matter. Buy a supra, mod it well yourself (not some shop), then expect my applause. We all know that money can get people almost anything, so money/stock cars doesn't impress me.

MkIV's are nice cars, but it's a well known fact that most MkIV owners are pompous because "-humph- I've got a MkIV Supra." And that mindset is just retarded, and I refuse to acknowledge it.

First) Note that I didn't make a blanket statement. I know several owners who are VERY nice, however, I know many MANY more owners who are assholes about it. No, not at all. But, go read almost any thread on SF where a Mk3 makes power. Mk4 owners come in out of the cracks to stomp on this. Good numbers or bad, there's this pressence of "we know we're better than you." Why do you think SupraMania was formed to be Mk3 specific? It's not an "everyone" but it's a well known attitude when discussing between most Mk4 and Mk3 owners.

 

OK OK felluz, enough about this. The thread was just of some kid who is proud of his mkiv supra and took the time to make a video b/c he loves his car. By no means did I feel he was being "cocky" nor "pompous". Have you two (Jeeves & Zoni) ever heard of the saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"?? I sense some jealousy in you two since you two don't have a mkiv and the fact that even if you spend mass amounts of money on modifications, your mkiii or whatever you have will not be as fast as a stock tt. jealousy? no. next season my car (camry) will be out on the scene producing huge numbers (550whp). THEN i will be cocky about my car too, but not now... but hell no im not jealous.

two of my good friends have mkiv's 1 is pretty much stock, the other is in the garage for major modifications. we are doing so much work on that car that it will be pushing 800hp when we are done with it. these guys ARE my good friends, but they still have an attitude. i have an attitude too though. but not about my car.

It IS a well known fact that Mk4 ownes often look down on Mk3 owners. Go research it.

 

nice vid JFK! I love supras, specially mkIV's, and ive only seen about 10 or so in real life, so I love to watch em any chance I get. there only 1 mkIII thats modded around here, its a TT from Japan, its dam tight

 

I just thought the video was pretty sweet. Like the effects and how he specifically filmed it.

But yeah, I agree. Its not that fun watching a stock car. Like the ferrarri vid i saw just cruising around the country side, Its was really really boring.
