I'm found that I can get a VIP 3200+ for $100 so I'm trying to confirm the part # because I have this funny feeling the guy has his part numbers confused with the glass breakage sensor.

Can anyone confirm Part #08586-3T930 is the correct part # for the actual alarm and not something else?

Thanks!

Well, actually it is correct. The '07 Camry actually has the system built-in basically, but out of the factory it works as a keyless entry only (unless you have an XLE which only needs the GBS feature).

That part number adds the RS3200+ system with GBS (or only GBS if you have an XLE), which gives you the abillity to activate full alarm features (door open alarm, GBS, passive arming, etc.). I know because I just purchased it and installed it myself for $88; however, I am currently having trouble getting a dealership to program it properly using the scan tool. The first dealership I took it to knew nothing about the system, charge me $20 to program, but then told me they couldn't get it program, but took my money anyhow. I'm trying a Lexus/Toyota dealership Monday that seemed to know more about the system. I will let you know how it goes. The install is pretty much cake, just interfaces with the factory wiring harnesses and mounts in a factory location behind the glove box. :)

The '07 Camry does not have the VIP 3200+ system built in from the factory that I'm aware of. It is added at the port, district, dealer or by the vehicle owner.

Not on the 2007 Camry factory option list - an accessory.

I do agree that out-the-door, the camry just has a keyless entry system, but some of the actual controls for the system are part of the vehicle's ECU, as I stated above, they just can't be utilized without installing the V5 (VIP) system as an accessory. The part number he referenced adds another tiny ECU unit to activate the system features and control the GBS. To activate the system after you install the V5 you simply go to the customize option using the scanner tool and choose ALARM ON. If you would like, I can send you the Toyota installation instructions and wiring diagram outlining the above.;)

It is not like the previous gen where you had a much more detailed installation and more involved alarm ECU unit.

Granted an aftermarket alarm would be much better (shock sensor, window control, radar, etc.), but for $88, it's not too bad of a deal and you won't have spliced wires, extra relays, and additional wires running through your firewall to an auxiliary siren. The fact is that if a thief wants in my car, they're going to get in it and no one really cars about car alarms these days anyhow; really, they're usually just some older couple opening their Cadillac's door using the key rather than learning how to press the unlock button on the key fob, right? lol

You are totally right. I know, cause I paided that am now have the "complete" alarm. It took my dealer 3 tries with their scan tool before it was working correctly.
Even if you buy the GBS seperate you still need that dealer scan tool. Therefore you might as well buy it from the dealer and save on thier scan tool activation charge.

I'm a little bit confuse here. Which part number is correct? Where do I get the part from?

I have an 2007 Camry LE and I like to add an alarm to my car. Any direction or installation manual may be helpfull! One more thing, what to ask to dealer to activate the alarm. Sometime, it is a lot easier to understand what to ask.
