yep, and here in NY, there really isn't any place for me to crawl on the rocks. (and i probably wouldn't go to crazy with IFS anyway). so i think it's my best option! (and when coupled with an e-locker in the rear, i should be good to go most anyplace i really want to take this thing.)

howcome your picking such narrow tires? better mileage?

numerous reasons.

1) my truck has absolutely no lift.
2) i'm going to crank the t-bars as LITTLE as possible
3) i want more clearance, but less rubbing
4) it's my daily driver, and with such a light truck in the rain, it would hydroplane all over with 33x12.5's
5) eventually, i'll do a SAS, and possibly go with wider tires, but not until i get a DD 4runner to replace this truck as a DD.
6) i read a great writeup (which i'll post when i'm at home on my computer) about how the 10.5's are better for a majority of offroading compred to 12.5's.

that's a nice truck. i've seen that video before- however, i'll be going with a FMIC. heatsoak is the enemy, especially with all the heat the 7M generates!

mine will only be pushing 300-350rwhp, but daily drivable in any condition, with 33x10.5's, 4.88's and an e-locker retrofit on the rear.

the supra does have about 800 lbs on the pickup. the 7mge will wake the truck up, but why put forth all that effort and not get the most power that you can. now i know that the gte only have 30 more horses than the ge, but with boost there are so many more opportunities for greater power gains. i wouldnt expect a gte to cost too much more anyway. i keep lookin at the junk yards for a motor to build. a 7mge is only running 40 freakin bucks.

yes, only 30 more HP, but the difference is in the torque, and where you GET the torque.

i'm nearly complete gathering parts for a high compression 7mgte for my '94 pickup, 4x4, 5 speed.

when i actually start building the motor, i'll make a build thread out of it for sure. i have to finish my car first, though... (and for what it's worth, i made nearly 300rwhp on a bone stock 7mgte at 15psi on a stock turbo with chipped impeller blades, lots of shaft play, and blown oil seals...) yes, there's LOTS of potential!
