One choice only, as in real life we'll buy 1 color. I do understand we often like 2 or 3 colors, but let's see real results that people are going to prefer for real life.

Based on cars.com 523 vehicles so far distributed across USA, here's number of cars by color produced so far.
1. Blizzard Pearl 167 vehicles
2. Silver/Grey 102 vehicles (this includes 2 colors Celestial Silver and Magnetic Grey)
3. Black 67 vehicles
4. Blue 59 vehicles (Blueprint I suppose)
5. Red 35 vehicles
6. Gold 19 vehicles (Opulent Amber color I guess)
7. Other colors 74 vehicles (this includes vehicles with not yet specified color)

I'm not sure where Moondust falls yet, it might be included in Blue or in Other colors.

What is surprising is that Interior color distribution is much more skewed:
1. Black 182 cars
2. Grey 144 cars
3. Beige 17 cars
4. Brown 1 car (I guess that is Caramel interior one)

Given that Caramel interior is mostly reserved for Platinum trim - we might see it increase later as more platinum becomes available. As right now it looks like majority of produced HL are following trims:

1. LE 280 cars
2. XLE 77 cars
3. Limited 55 cars
4. L 18 cars
5. Platinum 1 car

Some funny conclusions so far: most common/available 2020 HL currently in USA is Blizzard Pearl LE trim with Black interior. Platinum trim is not pumped out yet in large quantities (or is taken up by Toyota management folks lol). I'm guessing rarest car to find so far will be Platinum with Caramel interior in Opulent Amber color lol.

The Hybrid Platinum in Blueprint with caramel/dark brown/dark gray interior looked really nice in the Redline and Alex on Autos videos. I’m a sucker for contrasting exterior and interior colors. Blueprint with the tan/dark brown would also look good.

The Platinum also has silver front and rear bumper trim that also looks good with the contrast of a darker exterior color. However, I think the Blizzard Pearl contrasting with the black fender trim also looks good.

I guess Moondust color is 4th gen. surprise color so far. Also, not too many Moondust with Beige or Caramel interiors. I'm guessing that Toyota marketing group based their color % distribution on 3rd. gen sales. Probably that's why Blizzard Pearl with Black interior is leading trend so far. Of course it might change, but 3rd gen statistics tells something about demographics preferences imho.

According to poll (granted only 18 responses so far) we can already see leaders:
1. A tie between Blizzard pearl with Moondust!
2. Celestial Silver
3. A tie between Ruby Pearl and magnetic grey

Surprising that Black is least popular choice. I guess we'll see higher discounts for Black HL lol.

I seen a Moondust HL on the lot yesterday. A lot nicer in person. On another note, here in New England Platinum blizard pearl with black interior are nowhere to be had. Seen only two so far, both sold in the last couple of weeks. :-(

Gen 3 only had extra cost for Blizzard Pearl.

2020 has extra cost - $425 - for Blizzard Pearl, Moon Dust and Ruby Flare Pearl.

So far judging from the poll, Blizzard Pearl and Moondust are most popular with Celestial Silver next. So everything is getting more expensive nowadays, but it looks like Celestial Silver is the most popular economical color that doesn't have extra cost associated with it. Still surprised that Midnight Black is least popular on poll, while it's 3rd most produced color (at least from first 600 car batch so far).

In my experience Silver (and light Grey) cars are easiest to keep clean or to be more exact - it's easier to pretend they are clean as dirt (same amount of course) is not as visible on them as on Black color.

Yes, usually "Pearl" colors have extra layer of sparkling pigment and hence cost more. In other brands they are referred to as triple layer colors. However, Moondust doesn't have "Pearl" in its name, so I wonder if that is the color with just marketing trick to increase cost. It does look good, no doubt about it. If you think about it Moondust is kinda in between of white and silver (both popular colors for HL), but with slight hue/tint of blue - it's definitely going to be a popular color imho.
P.S. Just looked at high res Moondust HL photos and it does look like it's a "pearl" color as it does have that sparkling pigment when light falls on the car. So my guess is Blizzard Pearl, Moondust and Ruby Pearl have increased cost for a reason.

Ruby Flare has a lot of flakes in it so it sparkles.... it's a very cool paint job and it's not just a solid color. It's been on RAV4 and some other models for a while now. No doubt it might be more expensive paint and/or more work to apply. It's an extra-cost color on those other models as well.

I remember body shops being worried about Toyota's fancy paints like this about 15 years ago, but ultimately they figured it out and can match it when needed. In addition to having paint colors with a lot of flakes, they had some choices on Lexus that would look like two totally different colors depending on whether it was bright and sunny or not.

I personally like those rims way more than what I saw on LE trim. IMHO one really needs to buy at least Limited in order to have good looking car. 18 inch rims are horrible. I might have liked 18 inch better if their design wasn't like that. Maybe XLE has better rims.

I am hoping the ruby flare red is a brighter, truer red than what is seen on the 3rd gen HL Moulin Rouge "Ooh La La" the one I currently have. From the photos I have seen thus far that does appear to be the case.

That shade of red is like Mazda's signature color too, since it seems to be the color that their ad cars are, and they can charge extra for it the same way Toyota does.

Wow, I'm interested in trying both of these, and didn't realize how close they do look ! The Mazda Soul Red in person is a gorgeous color. My only complaint with the new Highlander looks is the dented back looking at it from the side view. From the back, it looks great ! I wish they had rounded that out more. A video I was watching, the salesman even said it looked like someone had hit the side and dented it.
