Car-89 SR5

Engine-4A-F

Mods-Cold air intake, timing advanced about 5 degrees, rear disc brake conversion, GTS suspension conversionand 4A-GE windage tray.

Horsepower- Maybe 100-105hp on its best day

Upcoming mods-MSD Blaster SS coil (Just need to instal it) and Pacesetter Header (Just need to find lowest price and order it)

return the coil. when i initially did my 4age swap i had an msd6al, blaster 2 coil, and 8910 eis tach adapter. when i removed those, the car ran better. Stock toyota coils are pretty potent.

how high are you revving that 4af? i would assume that you're getting valve floatage before that windage tray even comes into being needed.....

The highest I have ever spun the engine is about 6200-6300rpm because the damn thing really doesn't make any power up that high anyway. I don't really think the windage tray does much either. It only cost me $7 and I had to drop my oil pan that weekend anyway and plus it makes me sound cool when I tell other people I have one!! What do you think causes the blaster coil to be so ineffective? I thought the MSD piece would produce more voltage and make the combustion process more effecient!!

combustion process more efficient.... *BEEEEEEP* wrong answer.

Ignition has no effect on combustion process efficiency, only duty for ignition is to give a small little spark at the correct time thats it. How efficient the whole process is, is all about how the head is designed.
Having lots and lots of voltage doesnt do much, sure it gives a stronger spark, which results in the mixture igniting better (reduces missfiring), but thats it, if you're expecting power, you're barking at the wrong tree. Older cars had and points ignition still has coils that are considered low voltage coils, running at about 12-20kV.
