Okay so I'm going to help again but I really don't think you actually read anything in the manual.

Can you let everyone know what MAKE, MODEL, YEAR, and TRIM level of your AVALON. Put this info in your "signature" so everyone that wants to can help you better.

Data Communications Module. DCM. Acronyms is what tech heads are doing now and we can't make them stop. We either learn them or don't worry about them, or stay pisssed off- but it's better to get psssed off than to get pissssed on, right.. I manage to drive my car, enjoy my car, without understanding how to reverse-engineer it. Some people use "thingy".... that doesn't help us enjoy our holliday either. Happy Labor Day to you. Happy Labor Day, not HLD. Some of us still speak human.

READ THE FREAKING MANUALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've provided PDF copies of the manuals that you can download directly from your threads, and yet you continue to ask questions over and over and over that are very clearly contained in the manuals.
You say you like the paper manuals because you can highlight sections. OK fine... but open and use the PDF manuals and use <CTRL><F> and type in the topic of your question.

"DCM" is your digital communications Module.
It is the part of the car that communicates with Verizon or AT&T, and allows the Toyota Connected Services to function.
Use of these features, including Dynamic Navigation, using the Toyota app features, and the Toyota version of "OnStar" (the SOS button on the upper console) require an annual subscription.
