I've got a 2004 Highlander with 79,400 miles. It really hasn't given me any trouble since I bought it in 2004, but I'm wondering if I should consider trading for a new car while I'm still ahead of the game.
I understand that a new timing belt should be installed soon. Perhaps other things may need replaced too, although it is running fine right now.
My wife and I use this car locally, plus we travel some in the summer so we would rather not have a breakdown when several hundred miles away from home.
What would you suggest? Keep it and do the maintenance and repairs as needed or trade it on a new one and not have to worry about it for another 10 years?
Thanks
