Look on the subframe. There should be a spherical shaped nub sticking out for a floor jack.

 

Hello I am looking for help to locate the front central jacking point. I have a pretty good idea but it would be nice to get some reassurance. Sorry I don't have pictures right off the bat but my mother's car is a 1998 Toyota corolla and I am trying to put the car on jack stands so I can replace the front exhaust pipe.

Use ramps, please. A jack cannot be trusted while you're working under the car. The 1998 has a hard round plate in the middle of a crossmember for jacking, but even then, if you can't use ramps, use jack stands. Chock the wheels.

This is how I do it.

My floor jack stays under the jack point as a safety measure. It will give me enough time to move out of the way. Injury to myself is dependent on how fast or slow I move.

 

Use the wheels under the pinch welds as added security.
