Hello,

I recently just bought my first toyota pickup. It is a 5 speed, the guy sold it to me and said broken clutch and was explaining that when he plowed snow with it he felt the clutch give out. He was thinking maybe start with the slave cylinder? I'm looking to get it back on the road even in 4wd it wont move and you can shift it between gears with the truck running without grinding. Is the clutch stuck depressed in? thanks in advance!

Clutch is fried. Like the other guy said-big job. Replace clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bearing, and while you have it all apart replace rear crankshaft seal as well. Plan on getting the flywheel resurfaced as it is probably burned or, damaged from failed clutch. Transmission/transfer is heavy use jack, be careful.

You can eliminate the master and slave cylinders by watching the slave cylinder while someone works the clutch pedal.
If the slave moves the clutch fork, they're good.
