you know now that i see it on the car, i would want to see a cleaner kind of style- honestly i agree with justin. that style might be better left to supras.

the kind of scoop im talkin about is an iverted one that would be inset only about .75-1". this way it wouldnt take away any noticeable engine bay space for those of us who want to turbo/etc. kind of like an invader style, only the hood has been lowered a little in the front to vent hot air from the radiator.

heres a link to a pic of a gen 1 mr2 with the style im talkin about... only i would want the vent not nearly as deep.. http://www.speed-source.net/images/88SCV6/DSC01742.JPG

jwa: cool stuff... but i think the location of the vents will depend on where the braces on the hoods are... a deep end vent that u want will hit the cross member under our hoods thus making the hood weak... gotta look at all the right places... if anyone else has a suggestiion let me know my car goes into the shop in 2 weeks for the molding of the hood and when it starts no changes...

I think those vents look sweet. Hopefully i can get Jon to photo shop some more pictures for me, but we need to agree on something as soon as possible. I am trying to show you all that we here at CT Motorsport are not full of crap and will finish a project. Also, many people have wanted a hood with vents for years, so lets get one, it will be just a few weeks, using Humpty's car. So, keep the ideas coming.

when sean and i met up yesterday, we talked about different hood scoop/vent possibilities. looking at the hood braces underneath the hood, it looks like it would be possible to do a vent right above the radiator. one thing i want to stay away from with this hood is raising the profile of it. what i mean by this is i dont want to add a scoop-- it will mess with the car's natural body lines. rather we looked into making a frontal vent, meaning air would blow through the vent and cool off the radiator/engine bay. still going with the inset vent idea, only this one will match the grille much more, all while not making the hood look out of place. furthermore- rain would not be an issue and it would actually serve a purpose with the right placement.

i will try to have a photoshop of this idea up within the next few days... stay tuned
