I have a 2020 Corolla LE sedan gray interior. I’m not sure how dark I’m thinking 35% around but not sure if it’s to light. Any pics would help.

Looking at pics will not help much. First of all, there a several different types of tint film, such as dyed, charcoal, ceramic (nano), etc that look totally different for a given VLT percentage. Plus, photographs of tinted windows can be very misleading depending on the weather, background of the photo, etc.

Tint laws vary by state (as to allowed VLT), and depending on why you want a tint job (solar heat rejection, privacy, looks cool, etc), that will influence the type of film you chose (along with budget). If you want serious heat rejection, a ceramic tint film is the best. If your state allows 35% VLT, then that is usually dark enough to get very good results, and still allow one to see through the windows safely at night.

Once you have some idea as to what you might want, I would go to a tint shop and they can show you cars that have been tinted and you can see much better what it looks like than just looking at pics.

Thank you for your help I don’t want to make a expensive mistake. The tint shop showed me a few cars with different %. The darker the tint looks great on the front side windows but impractical at night and in California.

35% nano-ceramic on the sides and back, 70% nano-ceramic on the front windshield.
I have to say this is the first time I see front windshield tinted in US or Canada. Seen it before in Caribbean, but not here. Nonetheless, it looks subtle...
.
My HB has 20% all around:

i did 20% ceramic all around on my blueprint 2020. looks SICK. can't see in during the day or night. it's basically black but not as bad as 5%. 20 is as dark as if ever go. i've done it on my last 4 cars. i'd upload. a pic but it's a PITA to do on here. that guy with the 30 ceramic on his silver is a good gauge

My 09 Corolla S Turbo has 35% tint on all windows except front but I wish it was a little darker. My 2017 Corolla iM has 25% all around except front windshield. I notice the difference more on bright sunny days compared to cloudy days.

I had SunTek CX/CXP 35 on the sides/rear windows of my 5-spd manual 2015 Yaris SE hatch for almost 5 years & it was just right for me, and performed great even out here in the extremes of sun/heat in Phoenix, AZ. I purchased a Super-White 2020 Corolla SE sedan 6-spd manual this last weekend & was annoyed that the dealer had already tinted the windows with a 30-35 on front side windows & something darker on the rear sides & rear window (I forced them to remove the window tinting charge from cost of car as part of the deal, lol). I'm going to have it stripped off & redone in all CXP 35 like my Yaris was, as well as getting the lights wrapped in 3M UV/Scratch film (the sun/grit out here kills clear plastic headlights & makes them pitted & cloudy - but my Yaris headlights still looked brand new after almost 5 years out here with that film applied).

20% ceramic on everything. windshield is illegal as hell but 5-0 in louisiana doesn't care.

Why would you want the front windshield that dark? Even if you can that seems to make no sense. I've had front windshields tinted with 70% and it helped with glare and heat a lot but I could still see well at night. When I had 20% on all the other windows it was dark at night without anything on the front!

I had the side and windshield measured of my XSE (Jan, 2019 build) with a two-piece VLT meter, and the number was right around 78%. Toyota gave me a spec, over the phone with customer service, of "up to 70%". I put some Llumar Air Blue 80 on the sides and back window and it ended up just below 70. Still considering what might be possible for the windshield (in Texas). The dash gets pretty warm with the black interior. Been very pleased with the heat rejection and outward visibility of the Air Blue 80 though; privacy not an issue for me.
