The washer nozzle on the passenger side barely sprays any fluid. I switched the passenger side nozzle with the driver side nozzle and the passenger side nozzle still barely sprays any fluid so I know that the nozzle is not clogged. When I raise the hood, fluid flows out from the passenger side nozzle. Any ideas as to what the problem is?

Sounds like a hole in the hose leading to the nozzle. The residual fluid drains out of the nozzle when you lift the hood because there is no vacuum to hold it in.

If there is a hole in the hose wouldn't I see fluid leaking onto the hood liner?

 

trace the line back to the reservoir pump. I haven't checked the AV but my Volvo has a check valve in line. Make sure any tees or fittings are good. Silicone glob on a fitting will seal it. Sounds like a connection.

 

Do you know if the 2014 Avalon has a check valve between the washer pump and the nozzles?
