Would you buy another Camry Hybird again

Just curious on the response.

If you wanted to buy another Camry, would you consider buying the Camry Hybrid?

Was it worth the price or performance?

The last several cars I've owned have all been long term (12-16 year) experiences. I'm still driving my '91 Mazda B-2600 pickup and we kept the wife's '92 Camry LE when we bought the TCH. My thought is we likely won't keep the TCH as long as our conventional cars since I'm sure the technology will make some pretty significant advances over the next 5 years.

If the decision is to replace our current '07 TCH, then yes, I'd consider another TCH. Toyota just has too large a lead in hybrid technology to consider anything else.

Interesting though, had we not gone with hybrid technology for this car, I was really considering the Accord V-6 over the non-hybrid Camry.

Yes, I would buy another in an instant. However, I would not have bought a "base" TCH like I did. I would definitely have invested in the leather seats, moonroof, and NAV system.

Buy TCM Again

You bet I would buy it again. Unlike the other post I did not and would not get the upgrade package for an extra 5k. I have heated seats and a moon roof in my VW and never use them. The leather in my VW is too hot in the summer and needs more cleaning to look good. The only negative comment I have seen related to TCM is the poor interface for the nav system. I also considered the Accord hybrid. But since its a V6 the mpg is really bad compared to the TCM. With the TCM motor and battery operating simultaneously this is equivalent to a 3L V6 (190+_HP) with a gross weight of about 3600 lbs. My 96 Accord is a 2.7L 147 HP V6 with a gross weight of about 3000 lbs. So the Accord has about 10% more HP per pound of car weight, but the mpg is only 20 city and 25 highway vs a realistic 37 city and 35 highway for the TCM. The Accord cost me about 23k in 1996 and the TCM was 25K. What a job terrific engineering job Toyota has done.

I definitely would again if i were buying it for the fuel efficiency and features. If i wanted performance then I would probably get another model or even another make (rear wheel drive).

I sure would buy the hybrid. It’s a full size car that gives me 37.5mpg mixed in town highway use (70%/30%). Most of our driving is in town and that mileage is an honest 39-40mpg. It has plenty of power when you need it (190+HP with the combination of gas and battery drive simultaneously). Is not the V6 at 360HP but its perfect for me. The price is really exceptional at $25.2K (I paid $24K new for my 1996 Accord V6 which had less HP; no traction/spin control; no remote entry; 2 airbags; terrible AM/FM tape cassette; air noise; no automitic climent control; 19/25MPG.........).

I love my TCH too. Whenever someone asks I tell them this, and in the same breath I tell them that I wish it had fewer interior rattles. This car is so quiet that the rattles seem to stand out even more.

It is still a pleasure to drive, despite the minor rattles.
