Reason I am asking is that I have 3 yes 3 12 JBL GT11200's just sitting at home along with a 500w 4 channel (It think) amp. Its been a while! (From another vehicle). I checked out the VBOX which is 1.20 ft3 (33.98 liters). I think they require too much space. Tacotunes box is only .65 cu ft. Anyone have any suggestions for using these insead of selling them.

I was thinking about using just the 2 not all three. Or maybe just 1? I dunno!
Thanks in advance Fellas!

Oh yeah... My purpose is to blast my Country Music as load as possible. Stock stereo doesnt do it justice! I want to upgrade the mids and Highs but since I have no budjet right now I will try to impliment these.

rip out your back window, throw a camper on the back and do a blow through....lol

you can fit as many subs as you want then....(check my signature)

otherwise, you are gonna have to loose the 12's

sorry boss

Your GT1200 mounting depth is 5.75". I believe that is too deep for behind back seat install which some members do.

Do what klaymen did... rip out the back window and put the subs there if you really want.

I dont think I want to do that. I want to keep the stock interior look. I guess I will have to sell them. I saw the mounting depth... that was my readoning for asking if anyone had a solution. Thanks for the info.

Possibly the enclosure. The Daytons need small enclosures.

JL makes great subs too, they are just pricey. $$$

Image Dynamics are the best subs I have ever used. I have a 12IDq sitting in my room right now. It's a sweet sub. INCREDIBLY CLEAN and it gets LOUD.

I definately think Image Dynamics subs are better than JL subs.

The Krew is "Male Escort" too? :whatthe:

You use IDQ12 for home and what you have for the truck? I'm still working on putting IDQ10 in mine.

Really, i havent heard the Dynamics to tell the difference but the JL are hard to beat. They sound clean. I have a CVR kicker it sounds really good thinking about either getting another 12 or just going with a 15. I like kicker i use to like infinty but once i got my kicker setup i was like wow.

My friend had two 12's of the daytonas and they sounded really muddy with carrying bass. They sounded really distored with bass from rap music, he got two JL w0 sounded way cleaner any reason behind this?
Daytonas?

You mean Daytons?

What model were they? How much power? Properly set x-over? Enclosure size? Ported? Sealed?

The Dayton Audio 12" HO is very clean and tight. You need a lot of power to really push them though.

Hahha yeah mis spelled on the daytons, He had a 1000w kicker amp. He actually use the same box for the JLs. The magnet was small on the daytons compared to the JL's. Didnt check the rms on his daytons though.

Hcarman - I don't have the IDQ hooked up to anything right now. It's just collecting dust.

Escorting for life!

TrdTacoma84 - I thought the same thing as you. JL would be very hard to beat. I used to run 12W3v2s and 12W6v2s in every setup I had. I had 2 12W3v2s with a JL 500/1 that BUMPED. I had 2 12W6v2s that were knocking as well with a JL 1000/1. Then I went all out and got 3 12W3V2 subs with the 1000/1 and I was hittin WAY clean and hard. I had the loudest system at my school for sure. I was in love with JL.

Then I came onto ToyotaNation and I was talking to Cam and he said Image Dynamics is the way to go. So I sold all my shit, except for the 1000/1 and got a 12IDQ sub in a sealed box with a Diamond Audio 300w RMS amp and I was beyond pleased. It was incredibly clean and loud, even through the sealed trunk of my BMW. The best thing about ID is that they are less $$$. I can also order them WITH WARRANTY through a direct dealer anytime I wish.

Dayton Audio makes many kinds of speakers for different uses. He was probably using a sub made for an instrament cabinet, like for a guitar or something.

The magnet on the back of 12" Dayton HO is huge. The sub weighs 25 lbs.

For comparison, a JL Audio 12W6v2 weights 19.5 lbs.

Nah it wasnt for a guitar cabinet, wasnt that small. Yeah it was heavy but didn thave a big magnet like my old audiobahn those were HUGE and weighed alot. Dual voice coil.

Dont know maybe they were blown or something but they didnt sound clean at all. But oh well, mabye i should add a 10" of the daytons to my truck in a custom box behind my arm rest to form to the floor hmmm. I would have a 12 and a 10... The kicker i have in there sounds really good. Carries bass and deep too. With a small alpine 340w bass amp.

Thats true forgot about that. I need to stop wasting so much money on this truck. I think im just going to ensloite the doors and dynamat the roof and floors next and im done.

The Kicker cvr will do me good untill i blow it. Then i can upgrade.

P.S. i did a search and couldnt find any info on removing the back panel on the access cab the one under the window do i just pull it off?

A guy that lives nearby heard about The Great PB, so he brought his truck by for some mods.

Anyway, he wanted a 12" in his Double Cab, instead of a 10". So I modified his TacoTunes sub box. I had to carve out some material from the back wall, but it worked out good. I put some fiberglass resin on the inside of the back wall to add some strength where I carved out the wood.

The Dayton 12" HO works good in small enclosures, but this is probably the very smallest enclosure that this sub should be installed in. I'll add some polyfill to it.
