Can anyone point me in the right direction to buy one or see if i could borrow it from somewhere? Everywhere i go they just have for 96 and newer cars and ive had a check engine light on my daily driver For about a week already

You can retrieve the engine light trouble code from your car by using a paper clip. Repair books on your car will tell you how to do it. Mostly involves jumping two pins in a connector with a paper clip, then count how many times the engine light flashes. The repair book will list each error code number.

The problem finding a scan tool for your Toyota is it's OBD1. There are many different diagnostic connectors through out the years for vehicles older than '96 and not everyone is going to have the right connector for it. It's just easier to use the repair book to instruct you on how to retrieve the trouble code.

You may want to pull all the temp sensors/switches/senders and clean them up. When I got my Camry the gauge sender was corroded and only showed half temperature as it would blow steam from the overflow.

There's the single wire temp sender under the coolant neck, the cold start switch on the top left of the neck, a fan switch on the thermostat housing, and I think one more on the neck (I haven't seen my Camry in nearly a year so I'm a little fuzzy). You can also clean the two with vacuum lines that are for emissions that are also located on the neck.
