Hi All,
I recently purchased a rough 1996 Camry LE. The body has been re-painted, and has a few dents, but no rust. It has 102k miles on it and when I bought it, the front driver side spindle was bent causing the steering wheel to be turned far in one direction to keep it going straight. I took it immediately to a mechanic after buying it and had the spindle replaced w/a junkyard one, a new axle and couple other things (cost $377) so now it drives perfect. The tires are real good shape, and the interior has good carpet and upholstery. I paid $900 for it. Now the problem I would like to solve: looks like it needs a new clock spring since the airbag is on, the horn and cruise control doesn't work. I had the oil changed, new air filter and coolant system flushed/tested and re-filled. I don't know if the timing belt has ever been replaced so I'll need that done soon. What can I expect to pay for a timing belt job? I know that usually includes new water pump, tensioner and a couple other things. Does the price I paid seem decent or a little too much? Anyway, glad to be part of a great group of intelligent Toyota guru's and look forward to knowing you all better.
Thanks :hi:
