I have this on my dash, the car doesnt have a key fob, I'd like to have one. Does this mean I can use one?? If so where do I buy and how to program it to the car, thanks ahead of time!

Whoa...you have traction control! Very rare option IIRC.

The old football-style keyfobs are no longer available, but they make a replacement keyfob that behaves the same except it looks like the newer, candy bar-style. Both the football-style and candy bar-style will have two blank buttons, and only the top one does anything (single button lock/unlock) because you should have the older RS3000 security system.

I ordered a replacement from Toyota of Cool Springs (former vendor around here) a few weeks ago, I would give them a call and talk to Roman. They ran $57 apiece, part number PT398-07100 (double-check this with Roman).

Kingdom934 posted programming instructions here: https://www.toyotanation.com/forum/...solara-1999-2003/1629820-what-happened-camry-s-key-fob-remote.html#post13820890

First, I'd check whether you even have the alarm in your car. You will need to find the control box to link up the remotes anyway, might as well do it now.

If the control box is there and the wires are all hooked up and look legit, don't forget that you need the BLACK remote, not the gray one which is for 98-99. Used ones on eBay are $20-30.

I think this is a LE V6 with the security alarm RS3000 and TRAC option? TRAC option is extremely rare for the Gen4, more so in the earlier 1997 years. Only available in the V6, LE trim and XLE. I believe 1997 XLE V6 had the immobilizer as well.
