This just started and my first thought was the ignition switch was stuck. So i disconnected the battery and and pulled the switch. Much to my surprise, I reconnected the battery, without the switch installed and the starter is still engaged. Any ideas what is causing this?

Happened to my car too.The copper contacts inside the starter are stuck...kinda melted together. Get a new solenoid repair kit and replace contacts.
