I was hoping there was some hidden trick on mine to move things over say 28", but it looks like I'll be unbolting the seat back.

At first I thought one of the things on the rear deck might be a pull tab, just car seat mounts😄

If it didn't have factory a/c, might be able to call it ultra base.

 

Is the manual release under the drivers seat along side the gas flap release not working?

 

I tend to believe OP got the absolute bare minimum and don't even have split fold down seats. If that's the case, congrats, you can get into the trunk by unbolting the back seat and the cross brace beneath it. Otherwise you have to get a locksmith or Lishi to pick the trunk open.

 

With no folding rear seat, you’ll need to remove the seat bottom and unbolt the seat back.

2 bolts will be at the rear shelf trim and the third will be at the bottom of the seat back frame.

 

You could also get a new key made at the dealership if you have access to your ownership documents and a way to get there. Sounds like you need a spare key anyhow.

 

Back in 2005 I went to Berkeley Toyota and showed them my registration slip and driver's license and they punched out a spare key for my 1998 Corolla for $15. It is a non-chip key.
