Just wanted to let people know, you can add factory steering wheel controls to your early gen Highlander/steering wheel if your not wanting to replace the whole wheel. This is standard on first gen Sienna minivans. I suspect this would be a simple addition with just replace the clock spring or adding the wiring to your existing clock spring

I noticed that even on lower trim 1st gen Siennas! I can confirm the clockspring won't fit though, it uses the old 90s style mounting
Ooooh nooo! It does! Dayham. Is there available pins on the stock clock spring connector? It's only using 3 wires (horn and cruise)
I think you can get away with it because like the 01-03 HL, the stock gen 1 Sienna only has 6 pins as well. But you probably won’t be adding heating to your wheel if you want the volume controls.

I have put my wheel on hold again. Just a friggin large undertaking and overwhelming project. Still loving my Avalon wheel even if half of it doesn't work 😆
