Hello. I am considering trading a motorcycle to a 2002 4Runner limited. It has high mileage but the looks of this vehicle is amazing. I have a 2007 camry with 170k miles and this 370k mile 4runner looks just as good. My concerns are what should I look for. I am loading up the bike on Thursday and taking it to his house and we are looking over the bike and the suv together. For what I have in the motorcycle it would be a good trade just based on that but I am wanting a good vehicle. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I am not a major car enthusiast so anyone with good car knowledge please jump in and tell me what I should look out for. Interior is leather and doesn't even have cracks in the leather, everything works such as a/c, heat, all power items work, heated seats work, disc changer etc but I don't know much about mechanical items. With my 07 camry which is a 4cyl it burns oil like crazy which some of you have prob read the threads here about that so I am just wanting to know if their is anything I should look out for on the 2002 4runner. Thank you for those who share your thoughts.

Thanks for your replies. Driver claims it was used for long trips hence the high mileage. Says everything is original on the vehicle. Motor or transmission hasn't been rebuilt which may be a bad thing lol. Only have 4k in the motorcycle so I'm not worried about losing money but I'm assuming with that many miles I'm gonna have to put a great deal in that vehicle in the near future. Just hard to believe it is in that shape with that many miles.

The 3rd gen 4runner is one of the best vehicles ever made and at 370K miles if maintained properly could still be a very reliable truck. But... even IF it's been maintained well, it's not worth anywhere near the $4K you've put into your bike. IMHO I wouldn't pay more than $2K for it and only if it was pristine. So if he wants to trade the runner and some cash for the bike, go for it otherwise....

I bet that ebay listing is a scam. And I thought for sure that NADA stuff they had on there was fake so I looked it up. NADA is smokin some good rope cuz there's NO WAY a truck with 370K is worth $9700!!! From the pics that truck has less than 100K miles I bet and you notice there's no pics of the odometer??? And they can't spell for crap!Yeah, I say scam...

The $9700 is retail, from a dealer with a warranty (not saying it's worth it).

If you really wanted to buy it, you'd want to pay close to the wholesale (trade-in) price.
And have someone run the VIN (carfax, dealer, etc) to get some history on it.
