2002 CAMRY: Is it possible to have a 6 disc Toyota Stacker?

I have the V6 XLE with the Navigation system by Toyota. The navigation and JBL radio are the same unit, both controlled thorough the Nav screen.

I was told be a few dealerships that it IS IN FACT possible to add the Toyota 6 disc CD changer below the center armrest or in the trunk or something. I forgot where they said I could have it installed but the fact is, they said it WAS possible even though I have a Nav / Radio JBL system.

The dealer I bought my Camry from told me that I COULD NOT have a changer installed because my factory Toyota Nav / JBL unit would be incapable of controlling a Toyota stacker -- they said it had no possibility of controlling one. I have to use the 1 disc in dash changer as found behind the screen.

So which is it? Does anyone know? Can I get a toyota 6 disc stacker without modifying the car or ruining my nav system?

Nobody seems to know!
Thanks all,

-Robbie.

If you can take you NAV system out and check behind the headunit, and if there's an empty harness open, then most likely you will be able to add a changer. Dealers can only assume one way or another without certainty.

Though the FM-modulated type changer is another option, but you will still need to access the antenna, which is behind the headunit anyway, so if you can add a changer directly without going through a radio station, the sound will be much better since FM-modulated units are limited by the tuner's capability, and FM band is only good from 30-15k Hz.
