Is it possible to change the 2ZZ engine out of my 2005 Rav4 and install a 2AZ engine? What will be my challenges?

Since I'm not familiar with those engines, I would expect the typical things like fitment, custom engine mounts, custom exhaust, custom electrical work, etc. Is there any particular reason why you want to swap engines? Unless you do the work yerself or have friends who are skilled in that type of swap, it will git expensive fairly quickly.

We did some further investigation and found that the 5th digit was an "D" which states that the engine should be a 2ZZ, but when we started to remove the original engine we found the stamp on the side saying it is a 2AZ engine. If the 5th digit was a "E" then it for sure would of been a 2AZ engine. This changes the whole configuration of installing a new engine. So the 2AZ will be a direct replacement.
