I'm trying to replace the serpentine belt on my sister's 2008 Camry LE 4 cyl. I had a difficult time getting the old belt off. When I turned the tensioner it did not allow the belt to come off the alternator very easy. I tried to put the new belt on and again I could not get enough clearance to slip the belt over the alternator pulley. I am now trying to put the old belt back on and I am running into the same problem. I read the sticky about replacing it. I slowly turn the tensioner clockwise. It just bottoms out without allowing enough slack to slip the belt back on. It appears Toyota does not allow the tensioner to loosen the belt enough or I am doing something wrong. I've replaced serpentine belts on other makes of cars and never had a problem like this. You help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
