2010 SE foglight bulbs switching to yellow?

I removed the 3 screws that hold up the access panel to reach the foglight socket. I tried to turn the bulb socket clockwise and counterclockwise but doesn't seem to wanna give. Don't want to break it, am I missing a step?

Also I wanna change to a yellow bulb. Is it a H11? What is the highest watt I can go without melting anything. I just want a plug and play with no relay...

TIA

Please do a search as this has been covered several times.

I believe they are H11 (check your service manual to be sure). Most aftermarket Yellow bulbs (Nokya) say they are stock wattage but actually run hotter with a risk of melting, some people have probs some don't. You can buy a heavy duty harness on ebay, it's plug and play... it hooks into your stock harness and then you plug the bulb in.

I think you should be fine without the harness, the DRL's dont draw that much voltage, so it doesnt run at its full potential therefore not creating that much extra heat. Unless you wanted to run your high beams 24/7 then you should but with just drl's you should be fine,

Don't worry about anything.

I've been operating exactly Nokya bulbs in my high beam/DLRs for over 2 years.

Since these bulbs are higher wattage, your DRLs are brighter but that's not a problem because that's still drawing far less watts than in "full on" setting. And even when you DO turn on your high beams, you never really run them for longer than 1-10 minutes so nothing happens.

I've inspected my harness, connectors and sockets and there's been no damage at all. Using over-wattage in your low-beams is an entirely different matter though. You should either use a separate harness in that case or go with a HID conversion (again with a separate harness).
