I too would love the answer to your question. Also, have you figured out how to turn off the code necessary to turn on the rear DVD Screen each time you turn it on?

I don't have the rear DVD player but maybe if I get an answer to my question, the kind person may address your issue at the same time.

 

I finally was able to get to the service menu and there is no option for navigation override. That option has apparently been removed in this version. I am working with my dealer...maybe some help there.

 

Apparently the 'override' function has been disabled since the 2009 nav systems were rolled out.

Seems silly that even a passenger is unable to work the system.

 

I was hoping someone had figured this out by now. The only suggestion anyone has given me is that if you tap the emergency brake, it may let you in while moving. I haven't tried it. Seems like it would be a bit safer just to allow things to be unlocked no?

I'm sure if the right person tried they could figure something out. I hate it the way it is. Who the heck wants to pull over on the interstate so you can see if there is anything nearby you might want to do. Stupid. I would not have gotten the system on my Sienna if I had known what I was paying for.

 

I agree I don't like it but I just started using the voice commands, pretty easy to do.

For the Corolla's system, all you need to do is ground a specific wire which tells the nav system when the car is in park.

I forget which one it is exactly, but if you search the 10th gen Corolla forums you may find it.

I found this on a Prius forum and it worked for me. There is no override, but you can set the mike volume for the BT phone. Hope this helps someone. Pete
