I just bought a 2011 XRS with the stock 215/45/17 and I'm shopping for winter rims and tires on kijiji and craigslist etc...

I've gone to a few tire shops for quotations and half of them don't have the XRS model in their books/specifications.

I've looked around as much as I can on the internet and have found that the Corolla rims are 5x100 and are compatible with:

94-05 Celica
03-08 Corolla
09-14 Corolla
03-14 Matrix
04-14 Prius
03-10 Pontiac Vibe
08-14 Scion XD

There's an "offset" measurement that I've seen and rim width of 7.5" but I gather these only apply to alloy rims.

So, to sum it up:

TL;DR
Winter rims for 2011 XRS

What do I need for 195/65/15

Is it the same rim for the other trims is it different because of the rear disc brakes

Are all steel rims the same. (provided that it fits on the hub)
i.e. a rim from a 15" from a Honda / Volkswagen etc. Can be used as long as the bolts line up.

I have a set of 195/65R15 winter tires on my Prius mounted to 15x7 +40mm offset. All wheels have offset, even steel wheels. I found that I could buy a nice looking set of alloy wheels for just a little more than an ugly set of steel wheels.

I also have a set of 16x7 +35mm wheels with a set of 205/55R16 winter tires on them & also a set of 215/45R17 winter tires mounted on a set of 17x7.5 +35mm wheels. I can fit any of them on my 09 Corolla, 10 Prius or 07 Corolla since they all use the same size.

Follow those from the Corolla 2009-2013. They'll all fit. If you're using the same mags, just get yourself 17-inch Winter tires (because your mags are 215/45/17). If you're getting new steel rims and would like to go for 16-inch instead, you can use 205/55R/16. My XRS was running on those and I still have them in my Canadian garage.

Thanks for the info!
I've found that on some.sites the 2010 corolla shows the xrs option. I think their the same as the other trims.

As I'm buying used, selection varies so im limited to what's available for sale.
I am not going to use the stock 17" rims.
With the amount of pot holes this city has they'll be trashed in no time.

I'm looking for 195/65/15. A guy in a tire shop told me that narrower is better for plowing through the snow.

Thanks to all that replied. I picked up a set of tires from kijiji that the seller says came from a 2010.

I explained to him that I was unsure about fitment and he agreed. He even mentioned that Toyota had changed their wheel specs 3 times in the last decade.

He brought out an impact gun and let me try one on just to be sure and its all good.

Problem solved! Just in time for the weekend storm coming.

EDIT: The lug nuts from the alloys don't fit properly! I didn't think to check it when I was testing the fit of the rim.
Another lesson learned...
I'll get some proper fitting nuts tomorrow and throw the tires on once and for all.

Thankfully all of this hassle is a one time thing. Once everything is fitted, it'll just be the actual tire being changed every few years.
