2012 Corolla paint issue?

This is hard to explain but I need opinions.

My parents bought a 2012 Corolla in Sandy Beach. They on 5/25 Friday afternoon. We all went for a ride the next 5/26. At our first stop I noticed there was a black line appearing in the paint or as it turned out the black line is where the paint was. The mark is on the molding under the doors. Oddly it sees to be the 3 doors that has had a passengers. My theory is the shoe is at some point contacting that molding and rubbing. The day after they bought the car the marks were only on the front driver side and just starting on the back driver side. As the car has had about 2 weeks of use the marks have worsened. The dealer ship told my father that it was a scratch and basically would not do anything to help him.

Pictures as of 6/11/12.
This is under the driver side door.

No its my parents vehicle. The dealership they bought it at told my dad that its a scratch and its basically not covered. They offered to order touch up paint for it.

While scratches do happen, this started almost immediately after day to day use. My father should have taken it back to the dealership sooner but he did not and thats his fault.

Trying a different dealership might be a good idea. I will suggest that to my parents.

I thought it might be, whatever material that panel is made out of just did not bond with the paint well.

If they can get it fixed have some clear film put over it to protect it in the future. I would think that would be fixed under warranty. Looks like it's chipping for sure in the smaller places.

being that the car is a week old i would ask explain how such scratch happened to begin with (its hard for a side skirt or bottom part to scratch)..that being said where is the paper your parents signed after purchasing the car stating that the car is scratch free..i signed that waiver once receiving my car..have the dealer send it to a body shop and paint it..sounds like the corolla was just those bad batch of cars that dealers usually use as loaner cars as the car is in service.
