[SOLVED] 2012 Key Fob programming - dealer only?
Local automobile locksmith can't get our new (to us) 2012 Avalon (not Limited) to enter programming mode. He's using all those steps about opening/closing door and inserting/removing key.
We got one OEM key with the car, but we're trying to add a second (that the locksmith sold us).
He was able to get the new key 'programmed' to start the car, but buttons on integrated key fob can't be programmed, because he can't get the car to enter programming mode.
My research shows lots of instructions for Avalon (to get it to enter programming mode) on the web, but they all seem to apply to only 2008 and older Avalons.
This car DOES NOT have a Smart Key (Push Button Start).
My question is: Does the 2012 Avalon remote (fob) have to be done by the dealer (heaven forbid).
Thanks
