If its flexible enough, grab it with needle nose pliers and just pluck it out.

Dealer does sell replacement strainers so its should be easy enough to R&R

I am wondering why you are doing this . If this really is a 2018 under warranty and you lost some fluid and added to much get this to a dealer. You should not have fluid loss this soon.

 

He doesn't have fluid loss. He is trying to siphon out some fluid. So, either he overfilled it or wants to siphon/refill the reservoir.

Warranty is for factory defects and not PM.

 

Wouldn't it be easier to remove some fluid at one of the brake bleeder valve? I haven't checked, but does this master cylinder have a bleeder valve?

 

Grabbed it with needle nose pliers lifted up turned counter clock wise, removed with no problems. I like to siphon out some and add new every few months or so. Been doing this for about 30 years with my Honda's and the fluid is always clear and no problems. Sold one to a relative and that vehicle now is 19 years old and brake fluid looks clear and no problems. I found Lucas DOT 3 brake fluid that has the exact same specs listed on the bottle that is listed on the master cylinder cap.

 

Yeah, I like to suck out all the sediment. Sometimes I go so far as to remove the reservoir completely and clean it before flushing the system with fresh. It looks so clean that way.
