I bought my 2020 RAV4 new and began hearing wind noise especially at 69-70 mph on freeway. I have taken to two different dealership 3-4 times and was told that it is just the design of the car and could do nothing about it. They also compared to same make and model and had same wind noise. Unwilling to accept explanation I talked to service manager telling him we as customers should not pay for bad designs. He agreed to call an expert in Portland for advise on matter. He called me back explaining there was a problem with the side window seals that was causing the noise. They have a temporary fix and still working on permanent fix and can take awhile. I agreed to wait for permanent fix.

Lot of info on the 'net you may want to google (e.g., below). I would consider the temp fix while awaiting the permanent fix, but unfortunately would not be optimistic about either. I have read that the strips used in the vid below do help. Also, check link.

Thank you I will do the temp fix and go from there.

I noticed that the guy in the video has installed window shades. From experience, i expect that is where a lot of his wind noise is comimg from. Also the roof rack he mentions.

My 2021 rav4 hybrid does not have any wind noise. I wamt to install window shades, but are hesitant because of possible noise. Mine was made at the Toyota Kentucky plant.

One odd thing i have noticed is that i get a lot of splatered bugs on both driver and passenger front windows, at the very front of the windows, close to the mirrors. I have never got bugs on any other cars side windows before. There must be some kind of draft there. Maybe this is picking up some wind on some. Maybe some sort of diverter there would help.

Also, to add to my above post. Toyota has had other wind noise issues before and they were seldom ever door gasket related.
The 2012-2014 Camry had wind noise issues. I had one of those. Everyone tried everything, including adding door gaskets, which did not help. Someone finally figured out that it was the side mirrors and home made some small stick on deflectors and stuck them on a specific spot on the mirrors. This worked. He made a youtube video.
Just a slight change in a side mirror mount position or design can make a big difference.
I did add window shades to mine, which also did increase the noise.

Wind noise is a relative thing. The RAV is certainly less noisy that, for example, a Jeep Wrangler.
But in general, Toyota SUVs (RAV, Highlander) are noisy compared to other similar class and price vehicle. Just came back from a short trip to Europe and even a $14k Ford Fiesta rental is less noisy than the RAV at 75 mph. Not to mention the compact AUDI A3 which I also drove, which was dead quiet compared to any Toyota I have ever owned (all 8 of them).

There is another possible source of wind noise (on many vehicles). If you have paint protection film on applied to the mirrors, the wind can hit the seam where the film ends at just the right angle and that can cause a loud whistling sound. Often, removing the film and having it re-applied in a slightly different position can correct this problem.

If you do a Google search, you will find that wind noise issues for many makes/models of vehicles can come from paint protection film on the mirrors. This is especially true for the driver's side mirror.

My father in law has this problem with his 2021 Rav4, he took it to a independent body shop he trusts. He found the the rear passenger door was out of alignment with the body at the window top front. He looked down the side, and could see that the door top was slightly raised out from the body. He rolled down the window, and gently pushed on the top door frame until it lined up with the body. The noise was gone. Hope this helps someone.

Hi. How your rav4? I also hear wind noise in my side window it's like it was slightly open but it's fully closed. Does the dealer resolve your issue?
