I have a donor '99 Lexus es300 with 1mz VVT engine. Does anybody know if engine subframe will fit 1993 3vz engine?

I am planning to swap everything(ECU, wires, engine subframe with engine and tranny), but I need to know if subframe from '99 wil bolt-on to '93 body.

Have anybody swapped engine subframe from '99 or '94 to '93.

that's gonna take a bit of work......they have different chassis.....one has the mcv10 and the other, the mcv20 chassis

Should work fine but why? It's not much of a HP jump at all to justify the work going into it. I guess if you don't mind and are gonna do it yourself, it would be a free 20 + hp.

The 3VZ-FE is a fine engine. And there is a good chance that the mounts look the same, but are different. Swap between V6's aren't very common. There just isn't a big difference. But if you have a doner, go for it.

This is was the main question if subframe mounting holes line-up.

I didn't think about struts, but it appears I could replace strut bearings that mount in strut towers.

The change between V6 is done not to improve HP, but to replace old '93 engine with '99 VVT engine that has only 10K miles..

Do I need to replace car's side of the harness. It will involve removing dash board.

I have entire '99 ES300 to "borrow" parts from.

I have just completed 1990 CAMRY V6 swap with 1990 Lexus ES250 low miles engine.

Have you driven the 5-speed? There not all they are cracked up to be.

You do get a smooth ride quality, but lets say your merging on to the highway, or trying to pass a semi so that you dont get smashed cause your in his blindspot, there is a big hesitation, like it trying to find the gears.

There has been alot of complaints about this, especially on the lexus side.

From my understanding, it has something to do with the way the tranny and everything is set-up.

hmmm....if it really does just bolt up, then you may as well go for it.......it'd be easier than trying to find a low mileage 3vz

I'm looking at one right now. 85,000miles. And it's a coupe:D Replace the 198,000mile car I have right now. But he's right. It's not worth searching for a low mileage engine. Go for the swap (and post anything left over from the Lexus for us to buy:) )
