5100's 1.75/Rear Spring TSB/Settling/No Noise/Waiting on 1" Block

I have my rear 5100's installed and the Rear Spring TSB done. I've been waiting for some time to install the front 5100's. I want to set them at 1.75", but have seen some posts that suggest that the TSB springs will end up settling so much that the 1.75" will give the truck a nose-up attitude with several passengers or a load.

My TSB has been done for several months and it has settled - it looks almost stock. I still want to set the fronts at 1.75" and am considering a 1" block in the rear, but I am concerned about that moving me towards the noise/vibration that some have posted about.

It seems like if I wait for the rear springs to finish sagging and/or add a lid or camper and then add the 1" block, that I wouldn't be stressing the geometry of the differential and drive train. I think that the TSB raised my rear end about 1.5", but it settled 1" to about +.5 over stock. If I add the block, the total would be a conservative 1.5" gain over stock. If I did it right after the tsb, it would be about 2.5"-3" over stock for several months (is this contributing to the noise/vib complaints?)

I guess my question is: Since my rear spring tsb has already settled, can I add the 1" block with a reduced chance of picking up the noise/vib or is this such an infrequent and random occurance that no one can say for sure what conditions will bring it on?

Go for it. I really think this issue is on a truck by truck basis but it definitley is out there. Remove the block if you have problems but don't let the internet put things in your head so that you freak about every little noise etc.(I had this for a while). I have the 5100's all around and had the TSB done 6 months ago. I guess it settled but I'm not sure it did. I just added 265/70 17 Bridgestone Revo's and they are perfect for what I need them for. I think they helped the ride better than anything else I've done. With them on, my DC TRD Sport 4x4, sits perfectly level. I don't tow anything and don't usually tote heavy loads so I'm good with it. If I did I would do the same thing you are contemplating.
Good Luck

I have the setup you are talking about and a 1" block will go in this weekend. As you said, with no load, the truck is perfectly level. Any load and it gets the nose up look. That's why I go for the block.

There are two different vibes as far as I know. One is from the front diff (that one is more of a noise than a vibe. I have it even with the 5100's set at 1.75 and no block). But it's very little, some people who have checked it out notice it, some don't. The other one is the take off shudder or rear driveline vibe, and that has to do with the rear lift. Some have reported having a little of that even with the TSB springs only. But I am keeping my fingers crossed. I'll let you know this weekend.

I do not expect any issues caused by the driveline angle after installing the blocks as with the blocks, the rear will only be marginally higher in the than right after the TSB (maybe 1/4" - 1/2" max). But axle wrap could happen, as now the springs are attched to the axle 1" apart.

If you want to make sure to completely stay away from any of these issues .... leave it stock.

My set-up;3'' Spacer lift in front w/stock sport Bil. set-up,AAL & 1" block in rear w/Bil.5125's,and A.R.E. cap. Truck sits level and very, very slight I would call shudder @ 20-25 mph @ takeoff and slow down.other than that I love the look and ride.Still have stock tires & wheels for now but plans for pro comp wheels and Revos since I build them everyday @ Bridgestone plant and get a good deal.BTW I had the angle shims in back with the blocks and the vibes were worse so I took em out.
