Not sure if that helps the guy... you kinda say one thing then contradict it later... of course problems are POSSIBLE but I believe the OP was asking if there were any specific problems with it.

I haven't had an issue with my 6-speed, I don't know of anyone having major problems with it. No major TSB's out that I know of...

It shifts hard and long - definitely benefits from the URD short shifter. It is a truck so don't expect it to shift like a Civic.

6shooter is right there is a chance you will have problems but there is a chance you will have something totally out of the ordinary to your truck too, who knows. He's just saying there have been problems so that you are aware that there is problems with some of them but that he has been fine. If you wheel some and 6shooters is fine then I wouldnt worry about it, if you're a daily driver I wouldnt worry about it but things can happen on every truck, car, SUV, etc.

If you don't powershift it and drive normal it will hold up fine. A lot of X-Runner guys have trouble with them. Many because the X-Runner was build "like" a sport truck so they tend to drive them hard. The six speed has a 4.10-1 first and a 2.29-1 second so it is very hard for the syncros to keep up on a fast redline shift. On a 4x4 you should be fine. I doubt you will be racing it.

There ya go - a good piece of advice.

I suppose that's why I haven't had any problems - my truck's a 4x4 and I drive/treat it like one.

Racing isn't on the agenda...
