ok...first you have to fold the back seats down.

then you have to take the seatbelt cusions off(by lifting them from the bottom, cause they are hooked in). next remove the 3rd brake light(2 screws). then remove the black panels in the space on the outside of the seats folded down. remove the 4 screws off the 6x9 cardboard. lift the front up a little and slide out.

i know the steps are a little confusing without pics but try them 1 step at a time cause it will work.

hope this helps.

yeah aftermarket 6x9s wont fit without mods....

if you dont have a grinder just use a hammer, i did..... that stuff is soft and will bend pretty easily.... jsut be careful not to hit the glass on your backswing.

and try not to buy 6x9s with bulky frames.... i have alping typeRs and they have clearance issues with the trunk bars

I had the pleasure of doing this tonight. All my other cars had like 10,000 screws and bolts, The Camry reminds me of a lego set, everything snaps in and out I LOVE IT! But I did run into a small problem with the rear deck, I ended up cracking one of the grills.
Here are more details steps for ya man, or for anyone else trying this.
1. Remove bottom rear seat, in the middle of both seats near the door grab the bottom edge and pull up, they will snap out.
Lift the back seat out, set it aside.
2. Fold down rear seats, Look on the bottom of the corner side cushions, you will see a gold bolt on the very bottom of it, YOU MUST REMOVE THIS!
After the bolts are removed pull up on both cushions, they will both pop out.
3. Remove the rear plastic peices near the head liner that extend to the back window, these also pop out. Run your finger along top of them and pull. They snap out easily. There is a small round clip type thing also, push the center in, pull out. If you loose this peice it ussally can be found where the rear seat used to be.
4. Remove the black plastic peices that line the oval part of the trunk opening, these also pop out. Run your finger along the top and pull.
5. Unscrew the two screws that are located where the seats fold up on the rear deck. They hold the carpet in place also. Take out the 3rd brake light. Use two hands on the outer sides of the 3rd brake light, pull up from the bottom edges and wiggle a bit, snaps in and out. Unscrew the two screws mounting the 3rd brake light.
6. Gentley pull out the rear deck, set this aside.
7. Unscrew the stock speakers. Dissconnect them. CUT THE WIRE SO YOU ENOUGH ROOM TO RE-SPLICE THEM!
8. Drop new speakers in, check for fit. If they do not fit, push down....see if they pop into place. If this doesn't work break something and swear like a sailor.
When I did this, the 6x9's of course did not fit. So I pushed one side down, broke out the dremel and drilled a pilot hole for one screw. Thats all it took.
To put all this back together....just read these steps in reverse.
It sounds like alot of work, but once you know where everything is.....it will only take 15-30 mins depending on how much you screw around and how fast you work.
This took me about 8 Hours, of course I spent 2 hours trying to figure out why my cd player was messing up, and why my speakers were not working. Then a hour to eat. Not to mention 6 or 7 cigg and beer breaks.
GOOD LUCK!

Sounds like you had a fun time! I had fun last night too installing my new HU. Nothing beats the joy of connecting all the leads on a wiring harness. Cut, twist, solder, wrap, repeat :D
crimping is much easier! crimp, then wrap in electrical tape, repeat... well I guess you'd have to twist the wires to get them into the crimp holes but it's easier than soldering. Soldering isn't hard, it's just tedious and requires you be at in one spot the whole time.
